Real4Reg members participated in the 31st Annual Meeting of the German Drug Utilisation Research Group (GAA), held from 21-22 November 2024 at the Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices, BfArM, in Bonn.
This year’s GAA Annual Meeting featured a diverse and forward-looking agenda, addressing key topics aligned with the guiding theme of “Drug Utilisation Research and Drug Epidemiology.” Topics included national and European data hubs, methodological perspectives on drug therapy safety analyses and interventions, drug therapy safety in vulnerable groups, and drug supply in the context of planetary health. Additionally, the event introduced a pre-conference workshop on polypharmacy, setting the stage for insightful discussions before the main sessions began.
At the opening ceremony, the President of the BfArM Prof. Dr. Karl Broich, briefly highlighted Real4Reg in the context of the MetReal cluster.
On the second day, our colleague Martin Russek presented a study evaluating the feasibility of supplementing single-arm trials with external control arms based on German real-world data sources as part of his doctoral research. We are delighted that his poster was awarded first place in the poster price recognizing the importance of his work.
